January 6 , 2012 - Bloch's Best Inc doing business as Laromme of Monsey, NY is recalling Laromme brand Vanilla Rugelach in 14 oz. round containers because it may contain undeclared eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Laromme brand Vanilla Rugelach was distributed in retail stores throughout Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey.


FDA warns consumers not to eat one batch of Loyd Grossman Korma Sauce
This product may put consumers at risk for botulism

Please note: The product is not believed to be distributed in the United States, but consumers may have obtained it through internet sales.

This product has been distributed nationwide to Retail Supermarkets.

September 30, 2011- Andrew Williamson Fresh Produce Expands Possible Distribution Area of Voluntary Organic Grape Tomato Recall ; Still Confined to Original Production Lot

Please Note: The original recall on this product was limited to 18 USA States and issued on September 28, 2011. As of last night, September 29, 2011, the recall was expanded to nationwide because of the potential for product transfer to unlisted States from distribution centers and broker-broker transfers. Consequently some of the product may have entered Maryland.

September 29, 2011:Kansas Firm Recalls Ground Beef Products Due To Possible E. Coli O157:H7 Contamination

USDA FSIS has released a product distribution list for this recall.   While this list does not include any specific Maryland retail operations, it does include the Supervalu distribution network.  The Supervalu network does supply the ACME and Shoppers supermarket chains, both of which have outlets in Maryland.


September 27, 2011 - Pennsylvania Firm Recalls Pureed Pork Products That May Contain Foreign Materials

This is Sysco Product and as such is distributed through the foodservice supply network to restaurants, etc.  Maryland is included on the distribution list.


June 24, 2011 - Scottsdale, AZ - Eagle Produce, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona has announced a limited recall of certain cantaloupes shipped from Arizona to upstate New York in late May, due to their potential to be contaminated with salmonella.

Please note: This product was shipped to the Sam's Club distribution center in Pottsville, PA and may have entered Maryland from this source.


June 22, 2011 - Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling 2,880 cases of DOLE® Italian Blend salad with Use-by Date of June 19, 2011,

Please note: This product was not shipped to Maryland but was shipped to Pennsylvania and may have entered the certain parts of Maryland due to cross state-line shopping.

May 20, 2011 - Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Inc. Issues Voluntary Recall for Specific Lot of Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste  - This appears to be both a retail product and a food ingredient. As a food ingredient the product may have been used commercially in a variety of other food products and may trigger additional product recalls.




May 12, 2011 - Goodness Gardens, Inc. Recalls Chives Lot # 0201111 Because of Possible Health Risk  - This product was shipped to Maryland and this Lot Number may NOT still be in stores. Consumers may still have it in their refrigerators.




May 12, 2011 - Mann Packing Reissues And Expands Voluntary Recall Of Party Trays And Snacks On The Go Items Containing Grape Tomatoes  - This product was shipped nationwide and could have entered Maryland.




May 3, 2011 - Porky Products Inc. Recalls Salted Smoked Split Herring (Bloaters)  - The product was sold nationwide and may have been distributed in and around Maryland.




May 3, 2011 - Quinault Tribal Enterprise Recalls All Canned Seafood Products Because of Possible Health Risk  - These products have been sold nationwide.




April 25, 2011 - Woodsmoke Provisions Voluntarily Recalls 160 packages of 4 oz. The Fresh Market Signature Collection Atlantic Smoked Salmon Due to Possible Health Risk


April 25, 2011 - L & M Companies, Inc. Recalls One Lot of Whole Cucumbers Because of Possible Health Risk  - This product was not shipped to Maryland. A national recall has been issued due to the risk that these cucumbers lost their manufacturer's identity in the supply chain due to "mix & match" at wholesale distributors.
